Come to see the pristine Patagonia you’ve always imagined
I’m Lucho, founder of Patagonia Summit, and we will be waiting down here in El Chaltén where we are settled all year round. We are going to hike for three days toward the legendary viewpoints of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. The invitation is to camp deep inside Los Glaciares National Park in our Private Camps, close to those granite spires rising above glacial valleys.
You’ll see what everyone comes for. But starting to feel something different…Something harder to photograph. Because we can manage our times according to the crowds and weather, to have always the most pristine experience possible.
The Wise Shift
We leave the mountains behind. An overnight bus takes us across the steppe to Los Antiguos. At sunrise, we cross into Chile. Most travelers stop there to get to Carretera Austral.

Trek Purposefully Through One of Earth’s Wild Places
For the next five days, we will be with you trekking through the true backcountry of Patagonia National Park.
No marked trails.
No crowds.
No noise.
Just traversing valleys, glacial terrain, deciduous and evergreen forests of a place that still feels intact.
Along our route we have built a couple of camps with huts, regenerating an old smuggler’s trail, long forgotten and now part of one of the most ambitious conservation projects in the world, between Chile and Argentina, to restore ecosystems and push a sustainable ECO/Adventure in such a wild place.
- Working with long term concession contracts with the Parks administrators, alongside with their initiatives and vision of Los Glaciares and Patagonia National Parks in Argentina and Chile
- Hiring local Guides, many of them trained by Tompkins conservation efforts on community development
